Open Enrollment for Kindergarten

Open enrollment for kindergarten students who do not live in our neighborhood closes on Friday, May 22, 2020.  Anyone interested in enrolling a student in TK or kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year who does not live in the Stonehurst neighborhood, needs to apply online.  Friday is the last day to apply.

Enrollment update

For those of you waiting to enroll students at Stonehurst STEAM Magnet, enrollment packages will be available for pick-up beginning Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 8:30 to 3:30.
If your child already attends our school in grades 1 through 4, you do not need to re-enroll him/her.  This is primarily for pre-k and Kindergarten students.  If your first through fifth grade child was recently accepted to our school for the 2020-2021 school year, you will also need to complete an enrollment packet.

To qualify for Kindergarten, students must turn 5 by 9/1/2020.
To qualify for Transitional Kindergarten, students must turn 5 between 9/2/2020 and 12/2/2020.
Students born between 12/3/2015 and 03/1/2017 qualify for pre-K classes.

Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students who live in the Stonehurst area simply need to pick up and enrollment packet.  For those student outside of our area, you must apply for our school via Open Enrollment.  This is done through the district's website - achieve.lausd.net.

COVID-19 Resource Available for Students Receiving Free or Reduced Meals

Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), children who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals at school will get extra food benefits. These food benefits are called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT benefits. P-EBT benefits help families in California buy food when schools are closed because of the coronavirus emergency.

Families will get up to $365 per eligible child on their P-EBT card to use on food and groceries.

Families with children who get CalFresh, Medi-Cal or Foster Care benefits do not need to apply. Most will get their P-EBT card in the mail during the month of May. P-EBT cards will begin arriving around May 12, 2020.

Families with children who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals and who do not get their P-EBT card in the mail by about May 22, 2020 must apply online before June 30, 2020. The online application will be available beginning May 22, 2020 at ca.p-ebt.org.  Or can call 1-877-328-9677 for more information.
